Curriculum

STEM Academy For Young Kids is the premier early learning center in the Edison area. We have the best resources and teachers giving children an incredibly useful and well-rounded education. With a strong belief that every child is gifted and talented, this facility provides a platform in making the first step forward. It is a proven fact that a stronger foundation in learning concepts can build a brighter prospect and a good citizen. Learning concepts using day to day life experience and revolving around "fun to read", "fun to do" and "fun from you” activities facilitates children to remember facts better and more firmly. Our curriculum also includes an individualized learning style catering to the needs of each child as well as an interactive approach fostering confidence building. This institute believes in the 4 pillars of learning (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) with language arts overlapping curriculum helping all teachers, students, and parents to team up to build and nurture:

  • C - Creative Minds
  • A - Active Body
  • R - Radiant Thinking
  • E - Enriched Talent

A Comprehensive Learning Approach

  • The operations at STEM Academy For Young Kids will be managed by highly skilled directors that are experienced with early childhood education. We recruit specialized teachers for every facet of STEM learning, including robotics. Our curriculum will also include courses that facilitate a healthy learning and growing experience, such as: Art, Sports, Music, Dance, Yoga, and Drama.
  • STEM Academy for Young Kids follows the High Scope curriculum.  HighScope's educational approach emphasizes “active participatory learning.” Active learning means students have direct, hands-on experiences with people, objects, events and ideas. Children’s interests and choices are at the heart of HighScope programs. They construct their own knowledge through interactions with the world and the people around them. We then layer STEM emphasis into our classrooms which introduces and engages children to STEM ideas, projects, learning and terminology.  STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) will be given strong emphasis in our Pre-K and Kindergarten programs. Infant/Toddler and Preschool age will emphasize on verbal and language skills with STEM activities as their learning path.
  • In addition to STEM Academy’s use of the HighScope curriculum model, we include a school-wide monthly STEM theme that is scaffolded according to each child’s age and abilities. Some examples of STEM themes include “The Human Body”, “Earth and the Environment”, “Space”, “Transportation and Community Helpers”, “Forces”, “Ecosystems and Biomes”,  “All About Money”, and “Weather and Natural Disasters”. We incorporate physical activities for children of all ages that ranges from “Tummy Time” for our infants to instructional Yoga, Soccer, Karate, and free play for our school-aged children.
